Shurangama Sutra Session 7
1. Three levels of 8th consciousness is difficult to comprehend especially the highest where the universe is 8th consciousness. This also means we and universe are one. No wonder zen master always said you and universe become one.
2. If I and universe is one then everything and everyone and I are directly related. I and whatever happens in my life is caused by me. People cheat me and people scam me are also caused by me. No wonder we need to repent for all the negative things happens in my life.
3. But this does not mean I just accept and let others treat me badly even though can see from the facts it is their wrong doing. I still have to self protect wherever possible.
4. The difficult part is having a clear mind to be aware of the intention behind their wrong doing at the point of contact before we become affected. I guess the only way is to do my due diligence and homework to find out the true facts about the person before trusting anyone.
5. Normally, is due to my laziness and convenience or lack of time and energy then choose to just believe the other person based on what they said and presented without verifying the true facts. With the current society, there are many liars, scammers and unethical salesman / sales talk who trying their best in every possible ways to cheat or lie for money.
6. My conclusion, when making a decision or dealing with anyone always consider the worst case that can happen, the best case that can happen and the most probable scenario it may happen. Cannot be for convenience and without true verified facts. Otherwise just no deal with the person. This includes stranger, friend and family unless I can accept the worst case scenario which is to help the other person if things don’t turn out well.
